Two Christian Youths Seriously Injured in Alleged Knife Attack in Faisalabad

Two Christian youths, Babar Masih and Sunil Masih, survived an alleged attempt on their lives after being severely beaten and stabbed during a disagreement outside a Christian family’s home.

Two Christian youths were admitted to hospital with serious injuries after an argument in the Chak JB South area of Faisalabad allegedly escalated into a violent knife attack.

According to the victims and their family, several men had regularly gathered outside Christian homes in the neighbourhood, causing concern and discomfort among residents, particularly women and children.

On the day of the incident, some men were reportedly standing outside a Christian family’s home when Babar Masih and Sunil Masih asked them to move away. A verbal disagreement followed and allegedly became violent.

The family said the assailants severely beat the two young men before attacking them with knives. Babar and Sunil sustained serious injuries but survived the attack and were taken to Civil Hospital Faisalabad for urgent medical treatment.

The Edge Foundation team personally visited Babar and Sunil and met their family during an in-person fact-finding visit. Team members saw the victims’ injuries, listened to their account of the attack and gathered information about the circumstances surrounding the incident.

After assessing the family’s situation, The Edge Foundation offered legal assistance to help the victims pursue their case, seek protection and obtain access to justice.

The attack has created fear among Christian families in the area. Community members expressed concern that a relatively minor disagreement had escalated into potentially deadly violence. The family believes that religious and social prejudice may have influenced the severity of the attack and has asked police to investigate every possible motive.

At the time of The Edge Foundation’s visit, the family said that two days had passed without the registration of a First Information Report or the arrest of any suspect.

The victims and their family have called on police to register the case, arrest those responsible and conduct a prompt, impartial and transparent investigation. They have also requested adequate protection because of concerns about their continuing safety.

The Edge Foundation has urged the authorities to ensure that Babar and Sunil receive equal protection under the law and that any evidence of religious prejudice is properly examined during the investigation.

The allegations are based on statements provided by the victims, their family and local sources. Responsibility for the attack must be established through reliable evidence, a transparent police investigation and due legal process.
